We only have 5 service dog placements for 2028 Graduation to ensure the highest level of training and individual attention.

At Dutton’s K9 Training, our service dog program is built around one goal:

to provide reliable, confident dogs that truly improve their handler’s quality of life.

We do not mass-produce service dogs.

Each dog is carefully selected, raised in our home, and trained with structure, clarity, and real-world exposure from the very beginning.

This ensures your dog is prepared for:

• Public access environments
• Daily life distractions
• Task work tailored to your specific needs

Home Raised, Not Kenneled

Our service dogs are raised in a home environment with exposure to kids, household activity, and everyday life.

Structured Training Approach

We use clear communication, consistency, and a balanced training system to create reliable results.

Real-World Exposure

Dogs are trained in stores, public places, and real-life situations—not just controlled environments.

Carefully Selected Dogs

We choose dogs based on health, temperament, and structure to ensure long-term success.

Limited Spots Available

We only take a small number of clients each year to maintain quality and individualized training.

Includes:

• Obedience training (CGC, CGCA, CGCU level)
• Public access training
• Task training customized to handler needs
• Socialization & environmental exposure
• Ongoing handler education

Outcome:

A fully trained service dog capable of passing a public access test and performing reliable task work.

Step 2: Consultation

We discuss expectations, timeline, and determine if the program is the right fit.

Step 3: Dog Selection

We either match you with a prospect or evaluate your current dog.

Step 4: Training Begins

Your dog begins structured training, socialization, and task work.

Step 5: Go Home + Handler Training

You’ll learn how to properly handle and maintain your dog’s training.

• We reserve the right to select or decline dogs based on temperament and suitability
• Not all dogs qualify for service work
• This is a long-term commitment and requires handler involvement
• We do not guarantee certification—training is based on ADA guidelines
• Applications are reviewed and approved based on fit and need, not first-come basis
